The United States men’s basketball team will be favored to claim yet another Olympic gold medal in Rio, but managing director Jerry Colangelo welcomes such high expectations.

Colangelo took up his current role in April 2005, eight months after his country had suffered a shocking defeat to Argentina in the semifinals of the Athens Olympics. Since then, the U.S. men have remained unbeaten at the Olympics, with successes in Beijing and London taking their tally to 14 gold medals in 17 appearances at the quadrennial showpiece.
